Bill Brownridge: Day In The Life Of A Prairie Boy, 1945

10 - 27 September 2016

Saturday, Sept 10th, please drop by the gallery to meet Bill Brownridge one of Canada’s most popular artists and author of hockey-inspired children’s books. His latest collection is a storyboard of paintings that revisits all his major themes through six decades.

"My style, I guess," says Brownridge, "is pointillism (tiny spots of colour that eventually form an image) and that technique allows me to capture all the minuscule grades of sunlight on snow during the whole six months of winter. I think Canadians who live in the West respond to that.”

“My paintings tell stories too,” adds Brownridge, “every one has a title. That’s old world, I suppose, something I learned from the great commercial artists of my time."
