An artist for twenty years, Chris Langstroth plays with the balance of abtstract and figurative to create intrigue in his work allowing room for interpritation and the viewer to imform the experience. Building and scraping layers of paint, he enjoys the physicality of thick paint, and the depth and movement it brings to the canvas. He believes the most interesting qualities of a painting have to do with the transformation of pigment in paste to an image on canvas and that leaving evidence of the process in the work creates a unique subtext.
