Quin Cheung
"both beautiful and useful, a pleasure to hold, made to nourish body and spirit"
Quin Cheung fell for clay in 1999 during her first wheel-throwing class, a love that never left even as a thriving chapter in international wedding photography took center stage. After more than fifteen years documenting and teaching around the world with DQ Studios, she has returned to the wheel, carving space to share that first love again.
Her practice is intimate and deliberate. Each piece is thrown, trimmed, glazed, and fired in small batches, crafted to be both beautiful and useful, a pleasure to hold, made to nourish body and spirit. Every vessel carries her mark alongside the verse that grounds her work each day: “So whether you eat, drink or anything you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Cor 10:31.
Quin’s studio is also a conduit for care. Inspired by time spent in Niger in 2006 supporting health clinics, sanitation education, and mosquito net distribution, she continues to give back to initiatives close to her heart, with a focus on educating and feeding schoolchildren and providing vocational training to young women at risk.
