Overview

Modern impressionist Sarah Kidner captures the beauty of everyday life with a fiery palette of sunlit colour and lighthearted, societal scenery.

Pictorializing the laid-back ease of a summer's day, the comforting bustle of a market or café or the quiet, underlying energy of a busy pedestrian walkway, Kidner celebrates the constant rotation of ordinary occurrences in regular day to day life. Kidner's dreamy application of paint and generation of light and gesturing form give the impression of viewing realistic extracts through an effervescent filter. With an affect not unlike the glittering sparkle of sunlight on water, Kidner's work evokes an enchanting eminence of sentiment and emotional response. The warmth of Kidner's pieces, even when focused on cooler hues, comes forth from a combination of lyrical brush strokes and charming subject matter that undeniably results in highly alluring testaments to the joys of the simplicity of regular life in its quiet moments.
