ARTIST STATEMENT
"It all starts with a story, an idea, a concept. I'll see something and want to explore it further. While working with shapes, values and colour, I try to keep this initial inspiration as my focus. I get very excited about 'happy accidents' that occur in a painting. On smaller pieces, magical things happen when thick paint in pure colour mixes on the canvas. On larger pieces I work more in layers. Painting around previous marks and drips and scrumbling wet over dry can have surprising results. In the end, I hope the viewer sees in the painting something of themselves and their own story."
