Verne Busby : New Works

20 March - 5 August 2019

Verne Busby has lived and worked most of his life in Edmonton, Alberta.  His most recent landscape works are part of a series titled "The High-Up Landscapes" -- born of Busby's inimitable perspective from the experience of flight at an altitude of 1,000 feet over picturesque swaths of central Alberta.

The work is essentially a modern interpretation of landscape painting through an aerial perspective.  Central Alberta's varying geography allows Busby to transition fluidly between complete abstraction and more representational work.  His gift to the viewer (the images below are a sample) is a thoroughly distinct perspective on a familiar, beloved landscape.
